Setting Passwords

Two level of passwords are provided to protect access to the program and to protect member's personal identity information from unauthorized users. It is recommended that the Sponsoring Organization's leader (Bishop for LDS units) set at least the Privacy Lock Password. Generally, only the leader handling BSA chartering, registration and access to tour permit information needs to know the Privacy Lock Password. All passwords should be recorded in the Sponsoring Organization's locked file cabinets incase leaders forget their passwords. For LDS sponsored units the TroopSoft passwords are designed to match the LDS policy related to distribution of printed rosters from the membership program based upon the leader's position in the sponsoring organization.
